Google shares plans to invest $1.7 billion into Ohio data centers

Aug 29, 2023 | Posted by MadalineDunn

Google will invest $1.7 billion to support three data center campuses in central Ohio, it recently shared.

The giant broke ground on its first data center in the state back in 2019, in New Albany, and has already invested over $2 billion in Ohio.

This investment will go toward its facilities in the municipalities of Columbus, New Albany and Lancaster. Reports have noted that they will support its AI work and power other tools.

According to Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, no tax credits or other public incentives were offered to Google for the data center expansion.
