Iliad-owned One of Free's data centers in Lyon, France, is growing. The Rockefeller data center in Lyon has doubled its hosting area, according to a recent LinkedIn post by Free Pro. Additional IT space with a capacity of roughly 460 racks will be available, totaling more than 9,690 square feet. Jaguar Network and DCforData opened the 4MW data center in 2019 at 60i Avenue Rockefeller. The facility's initial announcement of plans came in 2016. In December 2018, MSP Jaguar Network purchased DCforData, which at the time also ran a second facility in Limonest, Lyon. Then, in 2019, Iliad paid about $110 million for a 75% stake in Jaguar. In the latter half of 2022, the business adopted the Free Pro moniker.
Jaguar provides services at facilities in Bordeaux and Paris but also owns a data center in Marseille. Iliad, founded in 1990, owns several telecom and fiber companies, including Jaguar, Free, Iliad Italia, Play, and UPC. Additionally, it owns the French cloud and data center company Scaleway, which operates cloud services out of locations in Warsaw and Amsterdam and owns data centers all over France.
