A relatively modest fire broke out at an AdaniConneX data center that was still under construction in Noida, India. The fire was quickly put out after the incident, which occurred on Tuesday at 11:20 p.m. local time and was caused by welding work being performed at the site. Nobody was hurt in the incident. During the welding work at the under-construction AdaniConneX Data Center in Sector 62, several plastic sheets and thermocol polystyrene caught fire, according to Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey, who was quoted in the local media.
The firefighting team arrived at the scene in a hurry and put out the blaze as soon as they arrived. The facility is anticipated to be operational by the end of the year and have a capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) of IT load. EdgeConneX and the Indian behemoth Adani Enterprises have partnered together to form AdaniConneX as a joint venture.
Towards the end of the previous year, a fire broke out on the roof of a QTS data center that was being built in New Jersey. The company has stated that this incident will not delay the construction schedule.
This past week, an active Maxnod data center caught fire, resulting in a fireman's injury and the building's complete destruction.
