DTE Energy’s data centre pipeline has grown beyond 8GW, supported by major deals with Google and Oracle. The utility has secured 2.4GW of agreements, including a 1.4GW Oracle-backed project in Saline Township expected to ramp up in 2027–2028.

DTE’s 1GW Google deal is awaiting approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission, with a decision expected in September 2026. The project could drive up to $5 billion in investment through 2032, including renewable generation, energy storage, and demand response capacity. DTE is also in talks on a further 5–6GW of potential data centre demand.

DTE Energy has increased its five-year capital investment plan by 22% to $36.5 billion, with data centre growth as a key driver. The utility also outlined an $11 billion grid investment plan to improve reliability, reduce outages, and support rising demand. DTE serves around 2.3 million electricity customers and 1.3 million natural gas customers across Michigan.GettyImages-2241770992.width-358 (1).jpg
