DITO planning hyperscale data center in the Philippines

Nov 10, 2021 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

DITO has revealed its plans to develop hyperscale data centers in the Philippines. DITO CME Holdings Corp, the parent company of DITO Telecommunity, is in talks with some hyperscale firms about developing a data center in the Philippines. President and Director of DITO CME, Ernesto Alberto, told BusinessWorld that the company is in discussions with foreign partners that will allow the company to tap into the hyperscale market.

Ernesto Alberto said DITO has the expertise and real estate to deliver on a hyperscale project. He mentioned that DITO has access to land in Clark, which is in the central business district. DITO telecoms broke ground on a new data center in Clark Global City earlier in April. The company’s development on the 8-hectare site in the Clark Global City will include a call center, network operations center, R&D lab, and a regional center.

There are 48 data centers in Philippines.
