Digital Edge Narra1 (MNL1): Digital Edge signs joint venture to develop a 10MW data center in the Philippines

Digital Edge is forming a joint venture with the Philippines real estate company Threadborne Group to develop a 10MW data center in Manila, the Philippines. Both companies will be investing $100 million in the under-construction Digital Edge facility scheduled to be in operation in 2022. The facility will offer interconnection and colocation services to international and local customers in the Greater Manila region. 

Digital Edge says its new data center in Manila will be very efficient. The facility is projected to have an annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.193 at optimal operating temperature. Its Water Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is also projected to be 1.355. CEO of Digital Edge, Samuel Lee, said the Philippines has a high demand for data center capacity, yet, it is underserved. He noted that the partnership with Threadborne Group would enable the companies to be a leader in the development of critical data center infrastructure for the Philippine market.
