Dataplex is another data center company looking to expand in Ireland. Dublin City Council has now received a permission request from the Irish company to both extend the building space on Willsborough Industrial Estate in the Clonshaugh Business and Technology Park and change its usage.

As outlined in its request, Dataplex seeks to alter the warehousing and storage space and transform it into data storage use. Moreover, the company is also looking to build on this existing space and create an extension spanning 980 sqm (10,500 sq ft).

Currently, the building features data center storage on the bottom floor, but the company want to stretch this space from its 1,256 sqm (13,500 sq ft) to meet the parameters of 3,843 sqm (41,365 sq ft) across two floors, the ground floor extending to 3,353 sqm; the first floor spanning 490 sqm.
