Investment firm Stonepeak has revealed that it has recapitalized Cologix. Stonepeak is an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, and it has decided to pull out its investment in Cologix. The agreement sees Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund II LP and its co-investors sell Cologix to vehicles managed by Stonepeak. The vehicles comprise existing investors that have decided to reinvest into the data center firm. Some third-party investors are also going to make major investments. The transaction is expected to be completed in Q1 of 2022. However, the terms of the transaction were not revealed.
CEO of Cologix, Bill Fathers, said the deal would put the company in a better position for expansion. He added that the transaction would also help support its customer’s growth. The Managing Director at Stonepeak, Cyrus Gentry, also said it has been amazing to partner with Cologix over the last four years. He added that the company had expanded its footprint significantly in North America since then. Stonepeak acquired a major stake in Cologix in 2017. Stonepeak also revealed that it had invested over $1 billion in Cologix since the 2017 acquisition.
