ClusterPower has announced the opening of Romania's largest data center. Located in Mischii, Dolj County, the hyperscale facility saw an investment of €40 million. Its 25,400 sqm (273,400 sq ft) campus is expected to house five buildings. In total, the ClusterPower Technology Campus will have capacity for up to 4,500 racks and 200MW.

Speaking about what the facility will bring to the region, ClusterPower CEO Cosmin Georgescu, ClusterPower CEO in a speech, said it is the local community and customers' "home; a digital airport from where you can access in a split second Frankfurt, Dubai, Tokyo, London, Amsterdam or Paris. A place where performant equipment works around the clock to fulfill its protecting role, to keep your data safe."

Meanwhile, in a statement, he said it was a "dream came true." He went on to say that the facility will be a tool "necessary for national digitalization" in the country and mean Romania will be among the countries that can "rely on a strong digital infrastructure capable of connecting to the current and future requirements of the global market." He added: "Moreover, the construction of the ClusterPower data center will mean, for the new generations of Romanian students interested in specializing in IT, the easing of access to the most powerful computer currently available in Romania, based on Nvidia DGX technology."
