CloudHQ: CloudHQ To Develop a 180MW Facility in Minnesota

According to BizJournal, CloudHQ has plans to develop a data center in Chaska, Minnesota. The data center campus will sit on 72 acres of land in Carver County, Chaska. Per the filing, CloudHQ wants to either develop a large 1.8 million square feet (167,225 square meters) building or four buildings totaling 500,000 square feet (46,450 square meters). This will consist of two 150,000 square feet and two 100,000 square feet buildings.
However, per the presentation to the city county, the company suggested it would develop one two-story data center spanning 1.4 million square feet and 713,000 square feet in total. The data center is also expected to deliver 180MW of power.
CloudHQ plans to break ground on the data center in 2023. The company also said it would invest up to $1 billion on the campus. CloudHQ also has plans for a 300MW substation to serve the campus.
