CloudHQ has completed the acquisition of 100 acres in Culpeper County, Virginia. The data center developer is looking to develop a build-to-suit data center campus with up to 60MW capacity spanning 2.1 million square feet. According to Daily Progress, CloudHQ acquired the property for $12 million. According to reports, the amount paid is almost double the property’s assessed value.
CloudHQ acquired the land through SAAM Ventures LLC. Bryan Rothamel, the Economic Development Director of Culpeper County, said the plan is to develop a campus with multiple buildings spanning 2.1 million square feet. CloudHQ is also actively marketing the site and will develop as leased.
According to Rothamel, Rappahannock Electric Coop can provide the site with 30MW power. He added that plans are also in place to double line capacity by rebuilding the current line servicing the area.
