TCG is a New York-headquartered private equity and industrial holding group that owns Cortex DC. Cortex DC develops the campuses and will operate them, and the company says the facilities will serve hyperscalers, cloud service providers and advanced AI workloads. No customer, site or contract has been announced. Cortex DC has not confirmed locations, and Data Center Dynamics reported that local press says the company will build on land parcels TCG already owns. Cortex DC's own website says the platform will be anchored across India's Golden Quadrilateral.
The plan commits the company to sourcing 51 percent of its energy from green sources. Cortex DC lists three priorities for the build: speed, scale and sustainable power. Rahul Sharma is chief executive officer, with more than 25 years of experience across engineering, construction and digital infrastructure. The supervisory board is chaired by Vinayak Pai, and its members are TCG leaders Samik Mukherjee, Jeremy Ghose, Debu Bhattacharya and Sujoy Choudhury.
"Every economic era is built on a foundation. The Industrial Age rested on steel and energy; the Intelligence Age will rest on compute," said Purnendu Chatterjee, founder and chairman of TCG.
"Cortex DC is being built in India for the globe, set up to serve both local and global customers," said Rahul Sharma, chief executive officer of Cortex DC.
TCG was founded in 1989 and has deployed more than $4 billion across petrochemicals, life sciences, technology, financial services and real estate, according to the announcement.
