The building is designed for high-density AI workloads and will use direct-to-chip liquid cooling, with renewable energy integration, according to L&T. Vyoma.AI develops and operates the facility and markets it to hyperscalers, neoclouds and AI developers. Together AI, a US AI cloud provider that leases and operates GPU capacity, is the announced customer for AI factory capacity at the campus. L&T's August order covered 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs at the site, a contract the company classifies as a mega order worth between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore (The Hindu).
The 52 MW project expands an existing 30 MW data center at Kancheepuram that hosts AI compute clusters and has 150 MVA of power infrastructure readiness, L&T said. The campus is planned as a gigawatt-scale AI factory hub, and Baxtel's August report on the Together AI order put its first phase at 250 MW.
"The groundbreaking of our 52 MW Chennai data center marks a significant step in strengthening India's digital infrastructure ecosystem," said Prashant Chiranjive Jain, Managing Director of Vyoma.AI.
Vyoma.AI targets more than 250 MW of data center capacity across India, above the more than 200 MW the company cited in August. L&T rebranded its Cloudfiniti data center business as Vyoma last year and added a cloud platform in February, Data Center Dynamics reported. Vyoma.AI operates a 2 MW facility in Navi Mumbai and the 30 MW Chennai building, with two more in development according to its 2025 annual review, DCD reported, and it has signed an MoU for a 250 MW data center in Gujarat.
Baxtel counts 35 data centers in the Chennai market across 19 providers, 11 of them under construction, and lists L&T-Cloudfiniti, the L&T unit that became Vyoma, with five sites in India, including the operational 30 MW CHN1 Bldg1 at Kanchipuram.
