Carrier Connect Data Solutions has secured a customer for its newly acquired 4MW data center at 1001 Windward Concourse in Alpharetta, Georgia. The five-year agreement could generate CA$88.9 million (US$63.15m) in billings, based on an initial 3MW deployment, with the lease beginning in November 2026. Carrier Connect’s PureColo subsidiary leased the facility from Mapletree Industrial Trust earlier this month. Previously occupied solely by GE, the site represents the first 4MW under a previously announced 25MW customer letter of intent. The customer’s identity remains undisclosed.
Binns said: "This is a transformational milestone for Carrier Connect and one of the most significant commercial achievements in our company's history. The speed and scale of this achievement demonstrate exactly why we believe our business model is so compelling. We are not simply acquiring data center capacity; we are identifying existing, power-enabled infrastructure and rapidly converting it into substantial, long-term recurring revenue opportunities.”
Founded in 2019, Carrier Connect has expanded through acquisitions, including PureColo in December 2025 and Vancouver-based connectivity firm Morewave. It operates data centers across Canada, Australia, and Rochester, New York. Submer-owned cloud provider Radian Arc is a known customer, though its involvement in the 25MW letter of intent remains unconfirmed.
The 184,555 sq ft facility was built in the 1980s for Continental Telephone and later acquired by GE in 1991 for its North American operations. It was once described as GE’s largest data center. Carter Validus bought the property for $50 million in 2014 before selling its data center portfolio to Mapletree in 2021. GE’s lease was due to end in September 2025.
