Nxtra Data Ltd: Bharti Airtel to expand its data center portfolio by spending $470m

According to India’s Economic Times, Indian telco Bharti Airtel plans a major investment and expansion in its data center portfolio. The report shows that Bharti Airtel will invest Rs 3,500 crore ($470m) to expand its data center portfolio. It will also make this investment over the next three years.
Bharti Airtel currently has 100MW of capacity, and the investment will see the company’s data center capacity rise to 500MW. Data center investment in India is on the rise, with different firms making massive investments in the country. STT GDC recently announced a data center in Noida, India. Ascendas Property Fund also invested $162.4 million in Navi Mumbai earlier in July.
