AtlasEdge has announced its plan to build two data centers in Manchester, UK. The company secured permission for two data center buildings in Salford, Manchester. This will be the company’s first development since it was established in 2021. AtlasEdge filed for the buildings in May 2022 and got planning permission this week. The planning also covers the development of a substation.

Per the approved document, Atlas Edge will develop two data center buildings at Broadway House on Columbus Way in Salford. The buildings will be known as SAL02 and SAL03. Each of these buildings will also have four data halls across two floors. The 20,550 square feet (1,909 square meters) buildings will total 36,900 square feet (3426 square meters) across the two floors.

Part of the site is empty, while the southern part includes an unoccupied three-story office building called Broadway House. The building would be demolished to give way for the SAL03 data center, while SAL02 would be developed on the empty section.
