European data center firm AtlasEdge is expanding its footprint in Germany with a new project. The company this week announced plans for a new facility in Leverkusen. LEV002 will deliver 4.4MW of capacity across 3,400 sqm (36,595 sq ft). Construction is already underway, with the first phase expected to go live in Q2 2027.
“With the development of this new data center, we are advancing our long-term growth strategy in Germany,” said Georg Raiser, managing director DACH at AtlasEdge Data
Centres. “AtlasEdge is investing in high-growth European markets, delivering modern, high-performance infrastructure where customers need it most. Expanding our footprint in Leverkusen strengthens our ability to support customers across one of Germany’s leading economic regions.”
Formed in 2021 as a joint venture between telecoms company Liberty Global and digital infrastructure fund DigitalBridge, AtlasEdge operates regional data centers across Europe. Digital Realty has also invested in the company. The partnership combined DigitalBridge’s edge assets with Liberty Global’s real estate portfolio, with several of Liberty’s telecom subsidiaries serving as anchor tenants. AtlasEdge has since acquired multiple data centers across Europe and recently divested nine facilities to European operator Templus.
