Asterion Mulling Over Sale Of Its Latin American Data Centers

Feb 22, 2022 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

According to Expansion, Asterion Industrial Partners wants to sell its data centers in Latin America. Interestingly, the investment firm bought the facilities from Telefonica in 2019. The report has it that the company has contacted the services of Investment bank Greenhill & Co. to raise interest in the 11 data centers in the region. Nabiax currently operates these facilities.

The sudden decision to consider a potential sale comes after possible acquirers indicated an unsolicited interest in the facilities. The company acquired the facilities from Telefónica for €550 million ($616 million) earlier in 2019. The data centers have a total capacity of 29MW. They are also located in Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Spain, the US, and Mexico. The potential sale price for the facilities wasn’t revealed.

There are 357 data centers in Latin America (LATAM).
