AQ Compute: AQ Compute To Develop a 50MW Data Center in Barcelona, Spain

AQ Compute has announced a partnership with CBRE that will see the company develop a new data center in Barcelona, Spain. The data center will have a capacity of 50MW and is scheduled to come online before the end of 2024. In addition to the 50MW facility, AQ Compute plans to develop more data centers across Europe. Per local press, the data center will be developed in the Parc de l'Alba business park in Cerdanyola del Vallès. According to reports, AQ Compute will invest up to $300m to bring the project to life.
The CEO of AQ Compute, Petter M. Tømmeraas, said: "We are delighted to enter this extraordinary agreement that will reshape the landscape of data center services in Europe with a focus on sustainability. The need for computing capacities is rising and, together with CBRE, we will be able to cater for the high demand from clients in Europe and across the globe."
The VP of CBRE also commented on the development. According to him, the two companies are well stationed to create a top pan-European data center operator. He noted that the synergy between the companies would help leverage great locations for its data centers.
