Angola Cables has announced that it is expanding its data center located in Fortaleza, Brazil. The CEO of the wholesale connectivity provider, Angelo Gama, told Bnamericas that the company would invest a minimum of US$40m for the first phase of expansion at the facility. In addition, the development is expected to last less than a year while tripling the facility’s storage capacity to 500 racks. The data center’s power capacity will also reach 5MW after expansion.
The company broke ground on the data center in 2017, with the facility going live in 2019. The data center currently spans 22,600 square feet (2,100 square meters). 96,875 square feet (9,000 square meters) of data center space can also be added to the facility upon expansion.
