Amazon's second data center in Drogheda, Ireland approved

Amazon’s second data center in Drogheda, Ireland is going ahead after County Meath Council approved the two-story, 28,566 sqm (307,400 sq ft) facility to be built. Based at the Drogheda IDA Business & Technology Park, the facility will reportedly receive an investment of €350 million ($424m) and will have a capacity of 48MW.

The data center is two of three that the tech giant has planned for the site and is being developed by Tunis Properties LLC.

It is expected that work will begin on the second facility in 2023, with a view for it to be fully operational by 2026.

Amazon Drogheda I is located at Donore Rd, Rathmullan Drogheda, Co. Meath, Ireland.
