Adani Group has announced that it is developing two data centers in Andhra Pradesh, located in Madhurawada and Kapuluppada.
The projects will see an investment of INR 21,844 crore, with the first, in Madhurawada. Vizag Tech Park Private Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, will be responsible for the development of the Integrated Data Center and Technology and Business Park in Madhurawada, which will see an injection of ₹14,634 crore. Spanning 130 acres, the project will include a 200 MW data center, set to be completed in five phases across the next seven years.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy attended to lay the foundation stone for the projects on Wednesday.
Reports are that the data center will also run on renewable energy. “Its entire power needs would be met from renewable sources. The software industry would also get a big boost as it can fully capitalise on cloud services and facilitate more download speeds,” said the Chief Minister.
The company is also investing ₹7,210 crore in its second project in Kapuluppada near Bheemunipatnam, which will include a 100MW integrated data center and a technology and business park.
The two projects combined are pegged to create 50,000, and are part of the company’s commitment to invest INR 70,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh.
