A 50MW data centre has been proposed on green belt land in Bromley, south-east London. The two-building campus would be developed on a 10-hectare farmland site between Cudham Lane North and Charmwood Lane, just south of the A21 Sevenoaks Road.
Consultancy Dare has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening request to Bromley Council ahead of a full planning application. The council has requested a full EIA before the project can proceed. The proposal has already attracted local opposition, with around 300 comments mostly objecting to the scheme submitted to the council.
The developer said it hopes to secure a grid connection by 2028, although UK grid connection delays could make that timeline challenging. The company specialises in planning data centre projects and lists the Bromley proposal and the St Cleres project on its website.
