Converge ICT Solutions is constructing a 49MW data center in the Philippines' Paranaque City. Dennis Anthony Uy, co-founder and chief executive officer of Converge, told reporters at the company's internet fiber launch in Boracay a few weeks ago that a hyper scaler-dedicated facility will be completed within the next few years. Uy did not reveal the identity of the development's partner but stated that it was a multinational player and that more information would be released in June. The data center will occupy a 1,4-hectare plot of land. The construction designs have not yet been disclosed in detail.
Converge ICT Solutions is a telecommunications company headquartered in the Philippines. It currently operates two data centers for internal use in the country. The former was built in Manila in 2016, while the latter will begin construction in Mandaue in 2021. The facility in Mandaue required an investment of $20,8 million, spanned six stories, and housed 300 units. In November 2022, the company secured a 14MW geothermal energy deal with Greencore Geothermal to power the Angeles City data center of its parent company, ComClark Network and Technologies Corp. The Manila headquarters and data center of Converge is supported by a second 48MW geothermal energy contract, which is scheduled to expire this year. Converge aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
