Go to PodcastSpanish AI firm Substrate AI is investing $102.3 million (€100m) to build a new data center outside Toledo, Spain. The facility, planned on a 25,000 sqm (269,095 sq ft) site at the Torrehierro industrial estate in Talavera de la Reina, will be equipped with Nvidia GPU hardware, including NVL72 racks.
Substrate AI is financing the project with help from a €19.4 million grant from the Junta de Castilla la Mancha and funds from international investors. This new data center is intended to provide the necessary capacity to train and operate new AI models within both Spain and the European Union.
