Route 58 East Data Center Campus

Lot Size: 946 acres

On July 16, 2024, the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors (the Board) approved a rezoning application submitted by Anchorstone Advisors SOVA LLC. The rezoning allows for a data center development in the Dan River District.

  • The Board's approval rezones 945.79 acres off U.S. Highway 58 and State Road 735 (Cedar Road) from R-1, Residential Suburban Subdivision District, and A-1, Agricultural District, to M-2, Heavy Industrial.
  • The proposed development, known as the Route 58 East Data Center Campus, suggests up to five buildings are planned.
  • Anchorstone Advisors SOVA LLC's project could see an investment of $4-5 billion. Prior to this rezoning approval, the Board had approved a revision to the Pittsylvania County Code at its May 21, 2024 meeting. This revision allows for data centers to be permitted by special use in the M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry zone.
