Kitee, a city in eastern Finland, is finalizing contract negotiations with an unnamed European operator for its first-ever data center.
The facility is planned for a 10-hectare plot in the Puhos industrial area (Puhos Brown Data Center Site), with an initial building of about five hectares. The overall area is an existing industrial site of over 100 hectares that currently offers 10 MW of power, with the capacity to scale up to 200 MW via the national grid.
