Go to PodcastMonolith Inc. is partnering with AI infrastructure provider Crusoe to develop a modular data center on a 10-acre section of its Olive Creek campus in Hallam, Nebraska.
Designed to host up to 36 container-sized "Spark" AI factory units for high-density computing, the facility provides a lower-profile, community-friendly alternative to a previously planned ammonia plant. Located 25 miles southwest of Lincoln, the site sits near the Sheldon Power Station, a 225MW coal-fired power plant launched in the 1960s and owned by the Nebraska Public Power District. The site was previously home to the Hallam Nuclear Power Facility, but the 75MW plant shut down in 1966. The new data center facility will utilize water-efficient air-cooled or closed-loop cooling systems while bringing approximately 15 high-paying technology jobs to the area.
