Meta’s $1.2 billion data center in Temple, Texas, is now operational and serving live traffic, representing the company's first facility featuring its new AI-optimized architecture.

Located on 393 acres, the 900,000-square-foot site began construction in spring 2022, paused briefly in late 2022 to redesign the layout for artificial intelligence workloads, and resumed work in October 2023.

Meta's second location in Texas alongside its Fort Worth facility, the Temple site supports 100 operational jobs, matches 100% of its electricity use with clean energy via a 240MW solar agreement, and uses a closed-loop liquid cooling system that operates without consuming water for most of the year.
