Meta is building a major new data center campus near Talavera de la Reina, Spain, located about 78 miles (125 km) southwest of Madrid.
The project encompasses a 309-acre (125-hectare) plot and, at full build-out, will feature multiple facilities totaling 3.2 million square feet (300,000 square meters).
Between 2024 and 2030, Meta plans to invest a total of €1.03 billion in the project. Significantly, over 97% (€1.0 billion) of this investment will be allocated to construction costs and professional services.
Meta's data center campus construction is set to begin and will be built in phases. The first buildings should be operational in 2026, two years after the start of construction. The full campus is expected to be finished in 2029, with it reaching full operational capacity in 2030.
