Meta is investing CA$13 billion (US$9.17 billion) to establish its first Canadian data center and 33rd facility globally in Sturgeon County, Alberta.

The gigawatt-scale campus will utilize a closed-loop liquid cooling system and support 3,000 construction jobs alongside 300 permanent operational roles. Meta is also contributing CA$60 million toward local infrastructure while partnering on Project Greenlight (a CA$4.6 billion, 970MW natural gas generation facility) to support grid reliability and match 100% of the facility's electricity use with clean and renewable energy.
