In 2017, Facebook broke ground on its Henrico, Virginia data center campus located at 6200 Technology Blvd, with its initial buildings coming online in 2020. Collectively, the company is building 7 data centers at this campus as part of a $1.7 billion+ investment, which will span a total of 2.5 million square feet.

  • In September 2018, Facebook announced it would build three additional 500,000 square foot buildings. With the additional buildings, the data center would expand to five buildings totaling more than 2.4 million square feet.
  • In 2022, Facebook again filed for further expansion of its data center campus outside Richmond with two more data centers.
