Google has confirmed its plans to construct a data center in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The tech giant has acknowledged that it is the entity behind the previously proposed "Project Dawson" data center initiatives in the state.

  • Google aims to invest $510 million in a 231-acre site along Research Center Drive and Highway 17A in Dorchester County’s Pine Hill Business Campus.
  • Update: In September 2024, Google started construction of this data center in Dorchester County, South Carolina. The first facility is expected to be completed in 12 to 18 months.
