Google: Project Spring

Year Planned: 2029
Lot Size: 827 acres

In February 2026, the Sand Springs City Council approved the rezoning for "Project Spring," a Google-backed data center campus located just eight miles west of downtown Tulsa. Developed by White Rose Partners, the 827-acre project is a key component of Google’s recent $9 billion investment in Oklahoma’s cloud and AI infrastructure.

While the campus may eventually house up to three buildings, the development footprint will occupy less than 10% of the total land area, with 30-40% preserved as green space. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 for a 2029 completion.

Financially, Google has committed to paying for all new power infrastructure—including a dedicated substation—to ensure no costs are passed to local ratepayers, and the project is expected to generate millions in annual tax revenue for the city and school district. However, the development remains a point of local friction; a group called the Project Sand Springs Alliance has filed an ongoing lawsuit challenging the transparency of the 2025 land annexation process.
