In March 2021, the Columbus City Council approved a major development project on the far South side of Columbus, granting $54.3 million in tax incentives for a new data center on the former Hartman Farm site. This project has resulted in Google's Lockbourne campus, which consists of multiple data center buildings.
As part of the deal, Google will receive a significant financial benefit: a 15-year, 100% property tax abatement on an estimated $300 million investment.
