Nobles County Rejects $4bn Data Center Proposal

Proposed by Geronimo Power, the Nobles County Powered Data Park is a multi-billion-dollar development centered between the towns of Brewster and Reading in southwestern Minnesota. This project utilizes a "power-first" model, co-locating a massive data center campus with a specialized "armada" of local wind and solar assets to ensure a sustainable, carbon-free energy supply. By consuming power directly from nearby sources like the Plum Creek and Lime Creek wind farms, the park aims to alleviate regional grid congestion while generating significant tax revenue and hundreds of local jobs.
Pending all necessary permits and project milestones, Geronimo Power expects to break ground as early as 2027, with the initial campus targeted for completion in 2030.
