Energy Innovation Park

First announced in 2018, Energy Innovation Park, LLC (EIP) planned to build a fuel cell grid in a 465,000 square foot factory formerly occupied by Stanley Black & Decker on Myrtle Street, New Britain, with intentions for future expansion. The company's strategy involved a two-phase development approach. Initially, they would focus on constructing the fuel cell grid. Once the cells were operational, EIP planned to proceed with the second phase, which involved building a data center within the main factory building. This project aimed to repurpose the industrial site, combining innovative energy solutions with data center infrastructure.

  • Phase I of The Energy & Innovation Park Project kicked off in 2022
  • Fuel cells were awaiting final approval to operate at New Britain's Energy & Innovation Park on March 1, 2024.
