The campus was first developed by Talen Energy's Cumulus division before being sold to Amazon Web Services.
In 2024 AWS has agreed to buy power from Talen in 120-MW increments for the data center, which could grow to 960 MW. It also has a one-time option to cap its commitment at 480 MW. Under the agreement, Talen sold the site and assets of Cumulus Data for $650 million.
Talen's Susquehanna Nuclear Facility is a 2,520 MW nuclear generating facility consisting of two 1,260 MW units.
