China Mobile's Chongqing Data Center broke ground in the Chongqing Liangjiang International Cloud Computing Industrial Park in 2014. At full build out, the data center covers an area of 120,000sqm and is being built in three phases. Once completed, it will achieve an operational capacity of 20,000 cabinets and about 200,000 servers.
The first-phase construction project of China Mobile Chengdu-Chongqing (Chongqing) Jiangnan Data Center includes two four-story standardized computer rooms, one two-story power center, one four-story maintenance support room, guard room, etc., with a construction area of about 51,500 square meters. The first phase of the project can provide more than 6,600 racks during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, forming a computing power capacity of at least 128P. The designed PUE value of the data center is as low as 1.23.
The second phase construction started in 2020 and became operational in 2021.
