The company behind a planned low-carbon fertilizer plant in Washington, Atlas Agro, is proposing to acquire approximately 275 acres of land in the Northwest Advanced Clean Energy Park for $24 million near its Richland facility to develop a data center complex.
Atlas, a Swiss firm founded in 2021 that manufactures nitrogen fertilizers using green hydrogen, green ammonia, and renewable energy, plans to invest $500 million in the development. The proposal includes building five data centers, each measuring 500,000 square feet (46,450 sqm), with construction expected to begin in 2027.
