Apatura is proposing a new data center campus in East Ayrshire, Scotland. The company aims to develop the facility on a 24.5-hectare agricultural site located south of Creoch Farm in Ochiltree, just north of the former Killoch Colliery.
The proposed campus will feature a "flexible" design, with plans for one or more buildings, each between one and two stories high, encompassing a total footprint of approximately 45,000 square meters (484,375 sq ft). Apatura also intends to install a roof-mounted solar system on the premises.
For power, the scheme includes a new on-site substation and an underground cable connection to the existing Killoch Substation, which is less than half a kilometer southeast of the site. Construction of the data center is anticipated to take around three years. The ultimate end-user for the facility has not yet been disclosed.
