Amazon Data Services is moving forward with plans for a massive $3 billion data center project, code-named "Project Galaxy," in Sidney, Ohio. The Sidney City Council recently approved several development agreements, granting Amazon a 30-year, 100 percent tax abatement. In exchange for the significant tax break, Amazon will provide the city a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) totaling $50 million over a 15-year period.

The facility will be located on the north side of Millcreek Road, west of Vandemark Road in the Shelby County city. Construction is reportedly scheduled to begin in January 2026 and is expected to be completed by 2030.
