Virginia-based quarry company Luck Stone Corp. is planning to develop up to 2 million square feet (185,800 sqm) of new data center space in the Ashburn area of Loudoun County. Luck Stone submitted its application to Loudoun County in 2023 to rezone approximately 98 acres for the development of four data centers. The site is located just west of the company's Leesburg Plant, between Cochran Mill Road and Sycolin Creek.

Luck Stone's plans indicate that 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sqm) of new data center space would be built in the initial phase. A second phase would follow between 2030 and 2040, with a full build-out reaching up to 2 million sq ft.

Luck Stone has operated a quarry at the site since the early 1970s. According to reports, the company's application proposes to begin development in phases starting in 2026.

Operating Company

Operated by:

Luck Stone stands as America's largest family-owned construction aggregates producer, operating with a vision that extends far beyond traditional quarry operations. The company transforms each quarry site into a catalyst for community growth and environmental stewardship, guided by its foundation of Values Based Leadership. Through its primary expansion strategy of "greenfielding," Luck Stone thoughtfully develops new quarry sites by acquiring undeveloped land and securing necessary local, state, and federal entitlements.

What distinguishes Luck Stone from other aggregate producers is its commitment to being more than just a quarry operator. At each location, the company integrates three fundamental principles: local economic development to fuel community growth, environmental responsibility through sustainable practices, and strong community partnerships built on being a good neighbor. Luck Stone measures its success not merely in production metrics, but in the positive impact it creates for customers, communities, and the environment. This comprehensive approach has established the company as a trusted partner across all the communities it serves.
