Lancium's first Clean Campus, built for bitcoin mining and other flexible loads, sits on US 285 just northwest of Fort Stockton, Texas. First built in 2022, with its expansion stalled awaiting ERCOT approval.
Lancium's Fort Stockton Clean Campus sits on US Highway 285, just northwest of Fort Stockton in Pecos County, Texas. Lancium broke ground on its first Clean Campus here in September 2021. The first building came online in 2022.
Lancium designed the campus for flexible loads, such as bitcoin mining, that power down when ERCOT calls for it. It qualified as an ERCOT Controllable Load Resource in November 2022. That year, Lancium also signed a battery storage agreement with Broad Reach Power to keep the campus running through grid curtailments.
Sphere 3D hosted bitcoin miners on the campus from 2023 until November 2024. Lancium has announced no new tenant since then.
Lancium built a 300 MW substation for a larger expansion, but ERCOT has not let it energize. In January 2024, Pecos County amended Lancium's economic development agreement because of the ERCOT delays.
