Web Werks: Web Werks & Iron Mountain acquire 4 acres in Chennai for DC construction

Web Werks and Iron Mountain recently purchased a four-acre parcel of land in the Ambattur area of Chennai, India for the construction of two data center campuses. These parcel will support two buildings called CHE-1 and CHE-2 which will be built to Tier III standards and will support a total of 36MW.
Web Werks announced last week, “We are pleased to announce the strategic expansion of our joint venture with the acquisition of prime land in Chennai. This move is set to bolster our Pan-India hyperscale footprint, catering to both hyperscale and enterprise demands through the development of two state-of-the-art data centers.”

In India, Web Werks currently has data centers in Pune, Bangalore, Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad, some already in operation with others under development. Both companies are also developing a new campus in Mumbai known as MUM-3.
