UK data centre firm Volta has appointed Jason Liggins as its new chief executive officer. Liggins takes over following Volta’s separation from Verne and acquisition by Arcus.
“My focus will be on leading the growth of the Volta business, strengthening our position in the London market, and expanding the platform through the acquisition of additional sites as we build Volta into a multi‑site operator. I’m looking forward to driving this next phase of growth in close collaboration with Arcus,” Liggins said on LinkedIn this week.
Liggins previously served as CEO of Crown Hosting, a government-focused hosting joint venture between Ark Data Centres and the UK Government. He led the company for two years after joining Ark in 2014.
Volta operates a 6MW, 91,000 sq ft (8,450 sqm) carrier-neutral colocation facility in central London, serving financial services, telecoms, IT, and enterprise customers with more than 40 carriers.
The facility has been operated by Volta since 2013 and was previously a Reuters site dating back to the 1980s. Volta was acquired by D9 in 2022, merged with Verne, and later separated following ownership changes before being acquired by Arcus Infrastructure Partners earlier this year.
