Virtus Data Centers plans to construct a new 300MW campus outside Berlin in Germany. This week, the company, a division of STT GDC, announced the Wustermark Megacampus in Brandenberg, west of the capital.
The first phase of the campus in the municipality of Wustermark will encompass 3.7 million square feet and be operational by 2026. According to the corporation, the campus will provide 300 MW of incoming power at two campus locations. As part of the development, Virtus will support Wustermark's plans for a district heating distribution network by making campus waste heat available to the local municipality.
In May 2023, Virtus revealed intentions to open its first campus in Berlin. The new data center, Virtus Berlin 1, will be constructed in Marienpark, south of Berlin, and operational by 2026. According to the company's website, the Marienpark campus will feature four structures with a combined 56MW.
Virtus operates eleven data centers on four campuses in Greater London, comprising 828,825 square feet and 178 megawatts (MW) of power.
