Verne Breaks Ground on New Data Center in Mäntsälä, Finland

Verne has begun construction on a new data center in Finland, marking the first phase of development at its Mäntsälä campus. The company announced this week that work is underway on the initial 70MW phase of its data center campus in the Kapuli area of Mäntsälä, further expanding its footprint in the Nordic region.

“Mäntsälä brings together the energy infrastructure, local partnerships, and operating conditions needed for high-density computing at scale. As demand continues to grow, we want to build infrastructure that not only supports our customers, but also contributes positively to the local community and regional economy.”

Verne first unveiled plans for the 10-hectare development site in 2024.
The company expanded into Finland in 2022 through its acquisition of Ficolo, gaining ownership of data center facilities in Helsinki, Pori, and Tampere. Last year, Verne divested its Pori and Tampere sites, selling them to Nordic cloud services provider Glesys.

“We are very pleased to see Verne take this important next step in Mäntsälä,” said Hannu Laurila, Mayor of Mäntsälä. “This investment creates significant opportunities for our municipality and the wider region, not only through the site itself, but through the wider network of suppliers, service providers, energy partners, and other businesses that can grow around it. Mäntsälä has the location, infrastructure, and reliable power grid needed for long-term, future-focused investment.”verne_mantsala.width-358.webp
