Hyperco Files Plans for New Data Center in Kouvola

Jun 15, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Nordic data center developer Hyperco is planning another facility in Finland, with local reports indicating the company has applied to build a second data center in Kouvola. The proposed two-story facility in the Koria district would span 56,670 sqm (609,990 sq ft) and offer up to 100MW of capacity. A permit application was submitted earlier this month and is set to be reviewed by the Kouvola Technical Committee on June 16.

Hyperco has requested permission to begin construction before the building permit formally takes effect, arguing that foundation work is easier to complete before winter ground freezing conditions set in. The proposed facility would be built next to Hyperco’s first data center in the Koria district of Kouvola, where construction began last year. Developed in partnership with DayOne, the initial site is scheduled for completion in May 2027 and is expected to support TikTok operations.

Founded in 2020, Hyperco was acquired by Edgnex in 2025. The company's first data center, acquired in Vantaa in 2022, is leased to Equinix and Thales. Hyperco is also developing projects in Espoo, Pyhäjoki, and Lohja, and has been linked to another site in Kouvola.Hyperco_visualisation.width-358.width-358 (1).webp
