An unnamed hyperscale enterprise software provider has entered into a 2.4MW data center lease agreement with Iron Mountain. The unknown firm will deploy at Iron Mountain’s WPA-1 data center facility in Boyers, Pennsylvania. Besides, the firm also has existing deployments at other Iron Mountain data center facilities. This is a ten-year lease, and it will start in Q1 of 2022.
The WPA-1 facility is a 200-acre facility that’s 220 feet underground. It also offers over 300,000 square feet of data center space with a potential IT capacity of 15MW. The facility also uses water from an underground lake for geothermal cooling.
Rick Crutchley, VP & GM North America at Iron Mountain Data Centers, said the Company’s data centers in Northern Virginia and Pennsylvania are in high demand as the right option for protecting and connecting critical IT infrastructure and applications. He also noted that Iron Mountain is pleased to add a new customer to the Company’s ecosystem.
